Cabien is a breed of horse originating in the island of Cabia, and have been around 1000s of years. However, they were only domesticated a short period ago. They are a breed of draft horse, but surprisingly light on their feet and quick. They have a lot of energy and can be hot under saddle as well. They are very brave and sure footed. Since the breed only is allowed on Cabia Island, it is classified as rare, therefore, stallions are not gelded but are taught to behave. The Cabien are the rulers most prized pieces of the island and hold a great value to them. Cabiens start at 16 hands and they can get up to 21 hands. They can be all shades of bay, brown, chestnut, and gray. Sometimes black, all the champagnes, very rarely roan, cremello and white are also possibilities. Cabiens cannot have pinto or appaloosa markings, but usually have a lot of chrome. About all Cabiens have a snip on their nose, and if they do not, they are looked down upon. The Cabien is known as the Celtic war horse therefore has special equipment for riding and a specific way of training. The females use burgundy and gold, while the males use silver and white. There are a few wild herds of them left, but they are being caught and domesticated by the rulers’ horse trainers.
